When in Port Louis, the capital of Mauritius, the sidewalks provide intersting eating experiences … don’t miss out on boulettes (meat or fish balls), “mine frite”, dholl puris, gateaux piments and samosas.
Other Mauritian restaurants a wide variety of foods, such as grilled prawns, venison curry, gratin de coeur de palmiste. Exotic fruits provide fantastic salads, and French wine is always available. Mauritian rum, which is widely produced and vry popular, is a taste treat which you must sample when you are visiting the island.

The American influence has made its way to the island, however, as you will see with some of the same fast-foods that are well-known in the United States.
